Potential outfits for around the Christmas period!

I already have a dress for the few dressy occasions that I have around Christmas, however Topshop have so much nice stuff at the moment that I am contemplating getting (once I have bought all my Christmas presents obviously!) an outfit for some other times, like Christmas day at my aunties! To be completely honest I can't really afford any of these things so probably won't get anything but that doesn't stop me blogging about them!

Here are a few outfit options, I think my favourite being the maroon coloured harem trousers and the sequined lace cardigan but I do love the turquoise and the red shorts with some black knee high socks or tights.

I already have these shoes, they are a couple of years old now though. They need a bit of a polish!

I have heels that look a bit like this, these ones are French Connection and mine are from Joe Browns but they do look similar.

Everything on here is from Topshop except the shoes and these earrings that are from Accessorize.

MK and A - Style Icons

Since looking into Grunge fashion for a uni project and coming across a few pictures of Mary Kate Olsen, the other day I started looking into them a bit more and found a few blogs dedicated to the styles of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. I have loved this pair since I was pretty small. Me and my sisters had all their videos...'Passport to Paris', 'Billboard Dad' and 'Switching Goals' to name a few!! To be honest we still have most of them on DVD!

Anyway I am a bit in love with their style. I will be honest and say that in most circumstances I don't really know which one is which but when they both have equally great style and fashion sense then that doesn't really matter just now. I think that the easiest way to tell them apart is that Ashley's style always seems to be a bit more smart and sophisticated whereas Mary Kate's style is often more effortless glamour with a more mixed up and vintage style.

Whatever they are wearing, wherever they are going, they always seem to look so glamourous and no matter who is who I always love what they are both wearing.

 Definite style icons.

*This one (below) is defintely a personal favourite.

*As well as this one....I love this one!

Another few favourites (above and below!)

*And another one that I love! (below)

And another....actually this is a little bit pointless because I love them all!

I love how utterly glamourous and sophisticated these last few look!

My Room

Thought I would give you a wee insight into my life with a few photos of my bedroom. Even though I am in third year at uni I still live at home, since university is only a twenty minute drive away! So my bedroom is my workspace and where I probably spend most of my time! I have a feature wall covered in pages from 'Glamour' magazine which I am pretty proud of and the other three walls are painted in 'Mellow Mocha' which is actually more like a pale lilac-y grey! Some of these photos are from when my room was first decorated and some are from much more recently so it looks a bit more full of....just stuff!! That inevitably seems to happen. However I will emphasise that I am a very neat and clean person, almost to slight ocd level!

Meeting Paloma Faith

So a couple of weeks ago I went to see Paloma Faith at The Edinburgh Corn Exchange with my sister Melissa(left) and my cousin Hazel(middle). I had wanted to see Paloma Faith in concert since I saw her at the Isle of Wight Festival in June this year! We got Hazel the ticket for her Birthday, a little bit worried that she wasn't even very aware of Paloma Faith and her music, however Eliza Doolittle was the support act and we knew that she liked her. We arrived just as Eliza Doolittle was starting and she was a great way to start the evening.

The Paloma Faith gig was one of the best gigs I have ever been to. The stage was decorated amazingly with a white grand piano, stairs up the middle and a tree with a bench underneath it! Paloma sang an amazing mix of her album tracks, new versions of the album tracks, covers (including Cee Lo Green's 'F**k You' and a slow version of David Guetta and Akon's 'Sexy Bitch'...both absolutely amazing!) as well as a few new songs which I can't wait to be released...including one called 'Me and my cellulite'!! :) Overall Paloma put on a fantastic lively show which everyone seemed to enjoy! Especially me!
After the gig we spotted some people heading around the back of the venue and so we followed! We were waiting on my dad to pick us up anyway so we thought we might as well wait around the back. It was maybe 45/50 minutes later that she appeared! (my dad had arrived by then, but he didn't mind waiting so we now had a photographer!) She looked stunning in her black coat with a large furry collar, patterned harem pants and heeled black and white brogues!
She wasn't allowed to talk at all because she was losing her voice and had gigs every night, so she literally had to move along the line signing everyones programmes and tickets without saying a word. She had a guy with her to translate what she was trying to say and to be able to chat to everyone. He had previously announced that she couldn't speak and told everyone just to tell her their name and she would sign. She came along the line to us and I couldn't really contain my excitement!! I have already blogged about Paloma being my ultimate fashion icon and I was really very excited to meet her! She signed my programme and was in the middle of signing my sister and my cousins tickets and I kept just blabbering away to her! I told her that I loved her and on more than one occasion (in the spirit of the moment) seemed to keep saying 'I'm so excited'!! I told her; 'I study fashion and you are my fashion icon'. She took my programme back from me and wrote 'I am sorry I can't speak to you'. I still to this day (even though it was only a few weeks ago!) wonder what she would have said to me, she has such a lovely, bubbly personality when she talks to her audience and I would have loved to have a wee chat with her.
In conclusion all three of us had a great night, a fantastic gig with the icing being put on the cake when we met her!

Paloma Faith; a gorgeous, lovely, funny, extremely talented lady and my ultimate fashion icon! (She tweeted today: 'heat mag love me in the what were they thinking section. they give me a lot of press! Just to make this clear: I don't want to fit in!I'd die!'...I love that attitude!)
